Mindful Mountains, founded by John Arnold in 2010, is a school of Mindfulness which, through the outdoors and in the company of Nature, provides teaching of mindfulness and meditation.
Suited to people who want to be introduced to mindfulness and those already with a current daily meditation practice we offer retreat weeks and weekends. We do this in the Monterosa region located in the north west Italian Alps, close to the border with Switzerland.
Our programme includes all year-round Mindful Retreats and Skiing Adventures in the winter. We aim to provide Retreat experiences which deepen meditation practice, rejuvenate the body, mind and soul, in nature and within the context of mindfulness. Our Skiing Adventure experiences are fun, unique, guided and personal.
It’s our mission to engage people in outdoor well-being activity, summer and winter, which promote the benefits and methods of being healthy physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The vision we have is that everyone will experience being with nature and through movement and stillness, in awareness, know themselves deeper and become connected to their caring, compassionate self. This vision motivates us because we believe in the benevolent nature of the natural world, the cleansing effects of movement, the healing power of stillness and the insight which arises from awareness.
Mindful Mountains is operated and run by John Arnold, with John leading most of the winter programme and teaching mindfulness during the Retreats. On these he is also accompanied by other mindfulness teachers and experts in their field, Corrine Favre (Yoga), Tim Spratt (Tai Chi) and Vin Harris (Buddhism).
